Swiftly, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a cross-functional team building edge-to-cloud software for on-vehicle hardware and embedded devices.

You’ll work across edge devices, cloud services, and the data engine, delivering robust, scalable software that connects transit systems with real-time data. Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with embedded systems/IoT/edge computing
• Proficiency with Linux including imaging, system administration, containerization, processing, networking and security
• Experience with multiple communication protocols (serial, HTTP/REST, MQTT) and cloud-native architectures (AWS)

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain and extend products, features, and functionality that solve real customer problems
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to discover and validate customer needs and technical approaches
• Develop and extend integrations with onboard hardware devices such as headsign controllers and fareboxes
• Build cloud-native backend services that manage device configuration and telemetry data
• Implement over-the-air software deployment and remote device management
• Design testing strategies for hardware-in-the-loop systems
• Collaborate with team through code reviews and proactive communication
• Take ownership of code and product domain and drive continuous improvement
