Zusammenfassung

Sage is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for the Edge team to bridge on-premise devices with cloud services. You will ship production code, be paired with a senior engineer, and present your work to the team at summer’s end.

Projects include fleet diagnostic tooling, telemetry pipelines, and automation to reduce manual ops. You’ll gain hands-on experience with IoT systems and edge device programming in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Qualifikationen

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid programming fundamentals in Java, Python, or another OO language.
• Familiarity with Linux and terminal usage.
• Curiosity about how software meets hardware: networking, radios, embedded systems, or IoT.
• Bias toward tinkering: you’ve taken something apart or built something scrappy.
• Clear communication and eagerness to ask questions.

Aufgaben

• Design, build, and ship a summer project for the Edge team under mentor guidance.
• Write backend services in Java that interact with thousands of on-premise devices.
• Work with Linux-based edge devices: flashing, configuring, debugging, and handling unreliable networks.
• Build tooling to improve fleet observability and diagnose hardware/connectivity issues remotely.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions with the full engineering team.
• Learn how a production IoT system spanning LoRaWAN, BLE, and cloud services operates at scale.
