Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is seeking an Internal Controls Advisory Services Consultant to join our team. You will collaborate with stakeholders to strengthen the organization''s control environment and ensure effective risk management across functions.

In this role, you will leverage data analytics and testing to drive improvements, support compliance efforts, and help management achieve strategic objectives in a dynamic, hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor''s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of prior relevant experience.
• Internal Audit or SOX compliance experience with strong understanding of financial and non-financial internal controls and impact to operational processes.
• Experience supporting control automation initiatives or integrating controls with technology and data platforms.
• Leverages internal control expertise to develop practical, risk-based recommendations addressing process and control gaps; negotiates and drives resolution.
• Strong communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders and drive adoption of standardized control practices across lines of business.
• Experience in data analytics and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Excel advanced functions) to analyze control data and support risk monitoring.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment, with health insurance industry experience preferred.
• CIA or CISA certification preferred.
