Job summary

Flagship Pioneering is seeking a Senior Manager, Internal Communications to develop and execute internal communications strategies that keep Flagship and its ecosystem employees informed, engaged, and connected to the mission of inventing and building breakthrough companies that change the world.

This individual contributor role will manage Flagship’s internal channels—intrant, newsletters, email and messaging platforms, digital signage, executive communications, and more—while coordinating

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, public relations, journalism, English, marketing, human resources, or related field.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in internal or corporate communications.
• Proven ability to develop and execute internal communications plans aligning with priorities.
• Strong creative instincts and ability to craft engaging, multi-channel narratives.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute internal communications plans to support Flagship’s business and 40+ ecosystem companies.
• Create clear, compelling content for internal channels (emails, newsletters, intranet, digital signage, events).
• Manage intranet and editorial calendars ensuring timely, coordinated communications.
• Partner with leadership, HR, and functions to align messaging on initiatives and culture.
• Design campaigns to boost employee engagement, onboarding, and two-way communication.
• Advise leaders on messaging strategy, audience targeting, and timing in sensitive situations.
• Establish governance and standards for consistency across channels and content.
• Support crisis and issues communications planning and execution.
