Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Senior Design and Release Engineer to lead the design, development, and launch of high-complexity interior sub-systems such as center consoles and door trim assemblies. You will work with Rivian Design Studio to align surface requirements with feasibility, driving durability and performance through virtual validation and DFMEA processes.

You will mentor teammates, collaborate with suppliers, and ensure on-time delivery while upholding Rivian's First Principles and finish

Qualifications

• Studio Interface: lead engineering interface with Rivian Design Studio, communicating surface requests and constraints clearly.
• Design & Engineering: create and manage 3D geometries and 2D drawings using Catia V6 to meet first-principles and finish standards.
• Technical Analysis: apply moldflow, formability, and wrapping software analysis to anticipate design impacts.
• Virtual Validation: use SimSolid or Trim Development Tools to optimize parts for durability and system performance.
• Problem Solving: lead root-cause analysis for component failures with the FA lab to implement permanent solutions.
• Standardization: create new standards and methodologies to improve design, test, and delivery processes.
• Supplier Management: select best-fit suppliers via technical reviews and manage external partners to meet deadlines.
• Quality & Risk: apply DFMEA to sub-systems and cascade outputs to the DVP.
• Mentorship: participate in leadership discussions and mentor emerging talent.
