Job summary

CannonDesign is recruiting a Senior Interior Designer to join a national team. You will collaborate with design and technical leadership and play an integral role in project teams, guiding interiors through design development and construction administration.

With a focus on furniture planning, you will manage drawings, material selections, and coordination with architecture and engineering disciplines. A strong portfolio and leadership capabilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field required.
• Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
• Relevant furniture planning, specification, and procurement experience strongly preferred.
• Strong furniture/interior design portfolio demonstrating planning, specification, and implementation experience preferred.
• Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
• Must be independent, analytical and design focused.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of the project’s goals through all phases (Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Construction Administration).
• Evaluate client needs and document design objectives and spatial requirements for furniture planning and design.
• Coordinate design work with team and with other disciplines; ensure code compliance.
• Develop interior space designs focusing on furniture design, layouts, elevations, and finishes.
• Independently select materials and consult with vendors; produce drawings to meet time and budget constraints.
• Assist in project planning, client meetings, and mentoring junior staff.
• Participate in site visits, submittals, shop drawings reviews, and punch lists.
