Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced interior design leader in Houston to guide furniture planning and interior design across large-scale projects. You will drive design development from pursuit through construction, coordinating with architecture, engineering, and consultants while mentoring junior staff.

The role requires a strong portfolio, 8+ years of experience, and proficiency in Revit and related software.

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master’s degree in interior design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field required.
A strong furniture/interior design portfolio demonstrating planning, specification, and implementation experience is preferred.
A minimum of 8 years of related experience required.
Relevant furniture planning, specification, and procurement experience strongly preferred.
Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead and engage with clients and teams to deliver interior design services.
Provide interior leadership with a focus in furniture planning and furniture design across multiple projects.
Lead design development through all project phases from Pursuit to Construction Administration.
Evaluate client needs and document design objectives and spatial requirements.
Coordinate design work and code compliance with other disciplines.
Mentor less experienced interior design staff and participate in marketing activities.
