Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced Interior Design Lead to guide furniture-focused design across large-scale projects. You will lead client engagement, coordinate with architecture and engineering teams, and mentor junior designers to deliver bold, Living-Centered design solutions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor or Master in interior design, 8+ years of experience, NCIDQ preferred, and strong proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, and the Adobe Creative Suite. Travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master’s degree in interior design, interior architecture, or relevant field.
• Minimum 8 years of related experience.
• Strong furniture planning, specification, and procurement experience preferred.
• Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
• Ability to provide interior design leadership focusing on furniture across large-scale projects/programs or multiple projects.
• Strong design, storytelling and technical skills as well as the knowledge of building and life safety codes required.
• Exceptional presentation, organizational, team building, collaboration, and communication skills are a must.
• The ability to build and maintain client relationships is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the client and project team in establishment of the project goals and vision.
• Provide project interior leadership with a focus in furniture planning and furniture design across multiple projects.
• Lead the design development of the project’s goals through all phases of the project.
• Coordinate project design work and code compliance.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines, including architecture, engineering, and consultants.
• Mentor less experienced interior design staff.
• Lead and/or participate in marketing activities, including proposal development and interviews.
