Job summary

Floor & Decor Holdings Inc. is seeking a Sr. Designer to lead our design team and deliver end-to-end consultative services for customers. You will meet with clients, educate them on project needs, and craft design concepts that fit their style, lifestyle, and budget.

The role requires a design degree or 6 years of equivalent experience, retail/sales exposure, and proficiency in basic math and MS Office. Limited travel and collaboration with store leadership are expected.

Qualifications

• Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design)
• 6 years interior design experience in lieu of design education
• Combination of education and experience equal to 6 years
• Prior retail/sales experience preferred
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
• Internal candidates must have 24 months of experience in a Floor & Decor Designer position

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain lasting relationships with residential and professional customers
• Greet customers and support in-store design needs
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking and referrals
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice for projects
• Design and sell complete, functional design solutions
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy and timely follow-up
• Communicate using company tools and emails
• Collaborate with leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation
• Support company initiatives and coaching best practices
• Engage in current design trends and use design applications like Salesforce
• Participate in local professional affiliations like ASID, NKBA
• Perform other duties as assigned
