Conexus, in San Diego, CA, seeks an experienced Interim Bank Controller to guide the accounting leadership team. Hybrid onsite role with potential travel from the Central Time Zone and westward 3-4 days per week.

Ideal candidate has 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership in banking, strong US GAAP expertise, and experience with SOX and external audits. Public company background preferred.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• 10+ years progressive accounting and financial leadership experience.
• Banking industry experience required, ideally within a publicly traded financial institution.
• Experience leading accounting teams and managing complex close processes.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, banking accounting practices, and financial reporting.
• Experience managing SOX programs, internal controls, and external audits.
• Proven ability to lead operations, improve processes, and perform in a regulated environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with cross-functional collaboration.
• Public company experience required.
• Exposure to SEC reporting and regulatory filings is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes to ensure timely, accurate US GAAP results.
• Oversee financial statement preparation and coordinate with SEC reporting for regulatory submissions.
• Evaluate workflows and implement improvements for reporting timelines and accuracy.
• Lead SOX compliance activities, including IC documentation, testing, and remediation.
• Coordinate with internal/external audits for reviews, year-ends, and assessments.
• Provide leadership and development for accounting staff, driving accountability.
• Identify automation and tech opportunities to improve accounting functions.
• Collaborate with executive and cross-functional finance teams on priorities.
• Support communications with senior management, Board, external auditors, and regulators.
• Strengthen accounting policies and internal controls to support growth.
