Job summary

UFG Insurance in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Sr. Accountant to support the preparation, analysis, and reporting of statutory financial statements, regulatory filings, and capital calculations.

This role ensures accuracy and compliance with statutory accounting principles. You will collaborate with Finance teams, prepare disclosures, support RBC/BCAR filings, and assist with audits, process improvements, and system enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
• Master's degree in Accounting or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and support quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, regulatory filings, disclosures and capital calculations.
• Analyze statutory financial results, balances and trends and investigate variances.
• Support RBC and BCAR capital adequacy calculations and filings.
• Assist with audits, internal controls and regulatory examination support.
• Maintain SOX-compliant documentation and assist with process improvements.
