Job summary

UFG Insurance seeks a Lead Accountant - Investment Reporting to lead investment accounting, pricing, and disclosure workstreams in a fast-paced insurance finance environment. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including investment accounting and reporting.
• Public company, insurance investment accounting experience preferred.
• Experience leading projects and supervising accounting professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of investment components of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated GAAP financial statements, statutory financial statements, and disclosures.
• Prepare and review investment disclosures, security pricing, reconciliations, analyses, and related documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate investment accounting workstreams and meet key close and regulatory deadlines.
• Oversee accounting for investment purchases, sales, income, amortization, gains/losses, and impairments.
• Review pricing/valuation information and resolve discrepancies with internal and external parties.
• Provide subject matter guidance, support audits, and drive process improvements in reporting.
