Securian Financial Group is seeking a Financial Reporting Accountant to join the Employee Benefits Solutions finance team. The role focuses on GAAP and statutory financial statements, coordinating with auditors and preparing schedules for internal and external reporting.

The position emphasizes collaboration across products and clients in the large employer group insurance market, with duties including premium tax allocation and ensuring transaction accuracy.

Formación

• Accounting exposure to statutory, management-based, tax and GAAP for financial reporting and budgeting.
• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Math).
• Demonstrated leadership and initiative to serve as a resource for team members and independently manage projects.
• Written and verbal communication skills to provide superior customer service to a variety of business partners.
• Demonstrated analytical skills to review and analyze financial statements and reports.

Responsabilidades

• Prepares EBS division financial reporting and ensures timely and accurate processing.
• Ensures the compliance, accuracy and completeness of the allocation of EBS premiums to facilitate the accurate payment of premium tax.
• Ensures the accuracy of accounting transactions processed within the business area.
• Supports the preparation and communication of financial information for auditors, insurance examiners, rating agencies, insurance agencies, and company leaders.
• Participates in projects related to financial reporting or financial contracts.
