Job summary

Protouch Staffing is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney in Houston to manage defense cases independently from inception through resolution. The role involves handling pleadings, discovery, depositions, and trial work, while collaborating with clients and insurance carriers on strategy and settlements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong civil litigation background, Texas Bar admission, and at least 4 years of relevant experience; 10+ years preferred.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Texas Bar admission in good standing.
• 4+ years of legal experience with substantial insurance defense.
• 10+ years of experience preferred.
• Strong civil litigation background and independent case handling.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage insurance defense cases from inception through resolution.
• Handle pleadings, discovery, motions, depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Work with clients and insurance carriers on strategy, exposure, settlements, and resolution.
• Manage settlement negotiations and advise on case outcomes.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Develop litigation strategies and manage assigned caseloads.
• Conduct legal research and prepare motions, briefs, and related documents.
• Maintain accurate case files and meet deadlines and billing requirements.
