Clyde & Co US LLP is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel with 10+ years of insurance coverage expertise to join our expanding coverage practice in the United States. The role emphasizes advisory work, coverage opinions, and strategic claim guidance for insurer clients on complex liability and excess policy matters.

Ideal candidates will be admitted in CA, WA, or another U.S. jurisdiction and demonstrate top-tier research, writing, and communication skills, with a track record mentoring junior

Qualifications

• 10+ years of insurance coverage experience with emphasis on complex/third-party coverage issues.
• Admitted to practice law in California, Washington, or another U.S. jurisdiction in good standing.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise insurers on coverage issues under commercial liability and excess policies.
• Draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, coverage position letters, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct sophisticated legal research and evaluate factual and legal issues affecting coverage determinations.
• Collaborate with claims professionals, in-house counsel, and stakeholders to develop coverage recommendations.
• Mentor and develop junior attorneys, and manage deadlines and client communications.
