Job summary

Pennsylvania Lumbermens Mutual Insurance is seeking a Business Development Representative/Senior Business Development Representative to cover Upstate New York, Bronx, Connecticut, and Western MA. You will build relationships with accounts and brokers, participate in sales and underwriting decisions, and help grow the core broker network.

This role requires travel, strong insurance background, and the ability to work with diverse brokers and accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Prior background in insurance and marketing essential, with regard to obtaining Agents/Brokers Licenses for the territory.
• Certification of successful completion of insurance studies (CPCU, CIC, AU, General Insurance, etc.) preferred.
• Computer literacy and ability to type reports.

Responsibilities

• Solicit and develop new accounts, identifying core brokers and producing new core brokers a year.
• Service existing accounts to maintain current book of business.
• Exercise underwriting authority, including pricing authority in soliciting and servicing accounts.
• Inspect client sites as part of loss control services.
• Participate in trade association meetings and conventions.
• Review coverages and programs and counsel insureds and brokers to maintain appropriate coverage levels given inflation/market trends.
• Submit activity reports and letters weekly.
• Prepare and update inspection files and rate schedules.
• SubmitExpense accounts monthly.
