Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Van Horn, TX is seeking a Level 3 Electrical Engineer to support engine test stands and instrumentation systems. You will design PLC programs, electrical panels, and DAQ configurations, while mentoring junior engineers on safety‑critical spaceflight projects.

The role requires a MS in electrical engineering and 5–10 years of hands-on schematic, panel design, and instrumentation experience. Travel up to 50% and relocation are offered.

Qualifications

  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience with electrical schematic and panel layout design (CAD).
  • 5–10 years of PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley or Siemens).
  • Proven ability to integrate instrumentation with data acquisition hardware.
  • Proficiency with electrical diagnostic equipment and sensors/actuators.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new tools for the team and act as SME for projects.
  • Provide high-level support for engine test stands and mentor junior engineers.
  • Design, upgrade, and modify PLC programs for test stands.
  • Design electrical panels for new instrumentation and controls infrastructure.
  • Maintain and upgrade test stand DAQ systems and troubleshoot DAQ hardware.
  • Coordinate instrumentation, data, and controls integration at test stands.
