Job summary

Blue Origin in Van Horn, TX, is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to support test stands and instrumentation across facilities. You will develop tools, mentor teammates, and design PLC programs and electrical panels for data acquisition and test control systems.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, project ownership, and collaboration in a safety-focused culture with travel and relocation support.

Qualifications

• M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in electrical schematic and panel layout design using CAD (AutoCAD Electrical preferred).
• 5–10 years PLC programming experience (Allen Bradley or Siemens).
• Proven ability to integrate instrumentation with data acquisition hardware.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop new tools for the team and mentor junior engineers.
• Provide technical support for instrumentation on test stands and update harness/interface drawings.
• Design, upgrade, and modify PLC programs for test stands.
• Design electrical panels for instrumentation and controls across facilities.
• Maintain and upgrade test stand DAQ systems and troubleshoot hardware.
