Job summary

Audubon Companies is seeking a Senior Instrument Design Specialist to lead design teams in Houston, TX. You will supervise, plan, and deliver instrument design packages, drawings, and BOMs while ensuring quality and adherence to standards.

The role requires extensive field experience, offshore oil & gas exposure, and proficiency in AutoCAD, PDMS, and Intools. Strong leadership and communication are essential for coordinating with clients and vendors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s Degree from a Technical Institution preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of technical software applied to specific discipline function.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience preferred.
• AutoCAD software experience and specialized training required.
• PDMS software experience and training preferred.
• Microsoft Office software experience preferred.
• SPI (Intools) software experience and training preferred.
• Field experience required.
• Experience in offshore oil & gas, onshore gas processing, hydrocarbon storage and transportation, chemical manufacturing or refining industry required.
• Small/Medium project lead experience required.
• Large project lead experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand drawing markups to determine drafting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise medium to large teams producing instrument design and related deliverables.
• Plan work and estimate project budgets for self and team.
• Prepare complete design packages including preliminary, conceptual, and construction deliverables.
• Create layouts and fabrication drawings using 2D/3D CAD tools.
• Ensure drawings meet company and industry standards and are field-ready.
• Review and revise drawings, BOMs, and specifications per engineering changes.
• Interact with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other consultants.
