Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Senior Instructional Developer in Washington, DC area to lead instructional teams and deliver virtual and in-person training programs for federal clients.

The role requires 5+ years in online learning, strong ADDIE and adult learning theory knowledge, and proficiency with Captivate, Rise 360, and Storyline. Hybrid location in Washington DC reflects current delivery modes and program needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing and supporting online learning and other learning technologies.
• Preferred: Experience leading instructional teams.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops instructional approaches and interactive courseware that meet training requirements.
• Leads and mentors teams of instructional designers, developers, and multimedia staff, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Participates in developing business strategies for new and existing learning products that meet government training needs.
• Engages with customer leadership, subject matter experts, and instructional designers to gather requirements and builds innovative learning solutions and content.
• Develops section 508 compliant web-based, instructor-led, and virtual instructor-led training materials including SCORM-conformant content, instructor guides, student guides, quick reference guides, and supplemental performance support materials.
• Plans, develops, manages, and evaluates in-person, online, and hybrid training programs.
• Supports learning technology initiatives, including webinars, online courses, self-paced e-learning, and streaming video.
• Prepares program content and messaging (course descriptions, learning objectives, outreach communications).
• Contributes to business proposals and contract reporting activities as needed.
