Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer for a distinguished educational organization based in Paarl, Western Cape. You will design and deliver learning experiences for online and in-person delivery, leveraging adult learning principles and proven models to create engaging content that meets high pedagogical standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Adult Education, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Instructional Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful learning solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of instructional design theories, models, and best practices.
• Proficiency with e-learning development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and multimedia software.
• Experience in developing assessments and evaluating learning effectiveness.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion, working effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in a higher education or corporate training environment is preferred.
• Commitment to creating inclusive and accessible learning experiences in South Africa .

Responsibilities

• Design and develop engaging, effective, and learner-centered instructional materials for various delivery methods (e-learning, instructor-led, blended).
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to analyze learning needs, define learning objectives, and gather content.
• Apply adult learning principles and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to create effective learning solutions.
• Develop storyboards, scripts, assessments, and interactive exercises for digital learning modules.
• Produce high-quality multimedia elements, including graphics, audio, and video, to enhance learning experiences.
• Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of learning solutions through assessment data and learner feedback, making recommendations for improvement.
• Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in instructional design and e-learning.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior instructional designers and project team members.
• Ensure all developed content is accessible and compliant with relevant standards.
