Job summary

Rust Automation & Controls is a family-owned instrumentation and automation company seeking an experienced inside sales rep who can size solutions, troubleshoot applications, and earn trust with customers. Based in West Jordan, UT, you’ll support customers across our Western U.S.

territory and collaborate with the outside sales team to deliver the best outcomes. You’ll build accurate quotes, manage complex orders from start to finish, and help customers choose the right measurement and control

Qualifications

• 5+ years in technical/inside sales or applications support.
• Experience with industrial instrumentation or control products.
• Comfort reading technical documents and bid specs.
• Understanding of control loops and process instrumentation.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts simply.
• Willingness to share knowledge with teammates.

Responsibilities

• Be the technical go-to for customers—product selection and application support.
• Build accurate, technically sound quotes and manage complex orders.
• Partner with outside sales to win and grow accounts.
• Coordinate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to move orders.
• Visit customer sites to build relationships, train, and drive new business.
• Own select sales initiatives and drive them forward.
