Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a Senior Classification Officer for Santa Rosa Correctional Institution in the Classification Department. The role focuses on assessing inmate progress, coordinating programs, and making management decisions to support positive inmate adjustment and departmental goals.

Qualifications

• Two years of Classification Officer experience.
• Experience with file audit and custody procedures.
• Working knowledge of disciplinary processes.
• Capability to handle large volumes of inmate change and movement.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmates through a collaborative case management approach and develop management plans and identify needs and risks.
• Plan referrals for treatment, programs, work, and services to meet inmate and departmental needs.
• Evaluate diverse information sources to inform inmate management decisions.
• Maintain inmate records in OBIS and other applications; compile and develop records as needed.
• Lead disciplinary hearings, make custody and reclassification recommendations, and oversee gain time awards.
