Job summary

The Florida Department of Corrections seeks a Senior Clerk in the Classification Department at Wakulla Correctional Institution to accurately assess and classify inmates based on needs, risks, and behaviours.

This on-site role handles correspondence, inmate records, data entry into the CDC database, mail, and general clerical duties while supporting housing and programming placements.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in education, work experience, and interviews.

Responsibilities

• Prepare correspondence, memorandums, and typing of essential forms and documents.
• Maintain inmate files, conduct audits on new inmates, and prepare necessary forms.
• Input data into the CDC database, retrieve information, and maintain classification documentation.
• Receive, date stamp, sort and distribute mail; handle copying, scanning, and faxing of documents.
• Provide customer service by answering calls, assisting inmate families, and handling special projects.
