Markel is seeking an Executive Underwriter to lead Inland Marine underwriting for the Northeast Region. You will underwrite new business and renewals, apply favorable policy language, and guide less experienced underwriters while promoting teamwork.

This role requires 8+ years of complex Inland Marine experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to travel up to 25%. A four-year degree and CPCU or similar designation are preferred.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years of complex Inland Marine underwriting experience.
• Technical knowledge reflecting progression of responsibilities.
• Marketing and relationship-building skills.
• Bachelor's degree and/or CPCU or similar designation preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication; MS Word/Excel skills.

Aufgaben

• Underwrite Inland Marine coverages with expert understanding.
• Analyze policy language; familiarity with AAIS Inland Marine and COP forms and broker manuscript forms.
• Analyze loss data and work with experience rating and loss rating; collaborate with actuaries.
• Present at underwriting meetings with senior executives from insureds and brokers.
• Provide policy review and rating guidance.
• Participate in Claims meetings and reviews.
• Quote and bind new and renewal accounts per underwriting guidelines and strategy.
• Participate in large risk strategy; strengthen broker relationships.
• Collaborate with Regional Leadership.
