Job summary

Hex is seeking a Software Engineer, Infrastructure to own and evolve our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability. You will contribute to multi-tenant and single-tenant environments, shaping how we scale workloads and deployments across teams.

You will work on critical projects with strong opinions and a bias for action, including cost optimization, security, and platform enhancements, while collaborating across a high-ownership engineering culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating production infrastructure.
• Strong Kubernetes operations: reason about scheduling, networking, and failure modes.
• Solid AWS fundamentals: EKS, RDS, VPC networking, IAM.
• Infrastructure as code, ideally Terraform.
• Able to write and read enough application code to change a pipeline, a controller, or a service.
• Clear written design docs and runbooks for engineers outside infra.

Responsibilities

• CI/CD pipelines: speed, cost, and flexibility improvements.
• Stack lifecycle: setup, teardown, and updates for single-tenant stacks.
• Postgres at scale: migrations and capacity for multi-tenant production database.
• Cost visibility and reduction for infrastructure spend.
• Security posture: workload isolation and compliance work as we scale up.
• Platform features: private connectivity and user-friendly single-tenant deployments.
