Job summary

Talanto seeks a Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure to own core platform services and migrations, including AWS foundation and ID/secrets management. This fully remote role requires overlapping with Eastern Time and delivering reliable, scalable infrastructure for a distributed energy platform.

You will lead container workloads with Kubernetes and Nomad, drive IaC pipelines, and enhance observability while guiding AI‑assisted development across teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering in Go and/or Python.
• Deep AWS experience: multi-account, IAM, VPC, DNS, secrets and encryption.
• Hands-on Kubernetes production experience with deployments, networking, RBAC and autoscaling.
• Strong infrastructure-as-code skills (Terraform or similar).
• Deep on observability: metrics, tracing, dashboards, and code-defined alerts.
• Experience with stateful systems: databases, message brokers, backups and restores.
• Clear communication, documentation, and cross-team coordination.
• Interest in AI-assisted development and platform tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own core Platform services and major migrations end to end.
• Run containerized workloads — orchestration, GitOps, rollout and rollback, Kubernetes strategy.
• Architect and operate the AWS foundation across multi-account environments.
• Treat identity, secrets, and encryption as first-class infrastructure.
• Operate stateful systems including databases and messaging throughout the stack.
• Instrument observability: metrics, traces, alerts, dashboards defined in code.
• Build infrastructure as code and developer tooling used by the whole org.
• Contribute to AI‑assisted development and tooling to move faster and securely.
