Job summary

Orb is seeking a skilled Infrastructure Software Engineer to join our infrastructure team in San Francisco. You’ll own reliability, scale, and observability, helping ensure our services stay up and responsive for customers and revenue flows.

You’ll work across event ingestion, API services, alerting and invoicing, collaborating with other engineering teams to design scalable, resilient systems. We value mentorship, hands-on problem solving, and a bias for action.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with 4+ years in the infrastructure domain.
• Strong debugging and performance troubleshooting skills.
• Experience building scalable infrastructure for a high-growth product.
• Ability to mentor engineers on observability and rollout strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure resiliency efforts - recovery mechanisms, tenant isolation, load spike handling, etc
• Improve observability and operability of our systems
• Build performance-critical, user-facing infrastructure (eg. real-time event processing)
• Plan scaling initiatives to handle large customer growth
• Partner with other engineering teams to ensure we build reliable product features
• Learn from a talented peer group, and share your expertise
