Orb is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure to own reliability across the platform. You will drive resiliency, observability, and scalable infrastructure for a fast-growing product used by customers worldwide.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and help shape the infrastructure strategy while working primarily from the San Francisco office. Experience with high-throughput, event-driven systems is valued, along with a willingness to relocate

Qualifications

• 9+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years in the infrastructure domain.
• Ability to lead resiliency initiatives and system reliability improvements.
• Experience mentoring engineers on observability, rollout strategies, and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure resiliency efforts – recovery mechanisms, tenant isolation, load spike handling.
• Improve observability and operability of our systems.
• Build performance-critical, user-facing infrastructure (e.g. real-time event processing).
• Plan scaling initiatives to handle large customer growth.
• Partner with engineering teams to deliver reliable product features.
• Mentor peers on best practices and routing around issues.
