Job summary

Astronomer, the company behind Astro, is hiring Senior and Staff Software Engineers on the Infrastructure team to own the architecture that stands up, configures, and manages the infrastructure Airflow runs on. You will design control-plane services and APIs for infrastructure lifecycle management across multi-tenant cloud and private cloud deployments.

You’ll lead API design (REST/gRPC), secure networking, CVE remediation, and observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or systems engineering.
• Proven track record of owning production systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and own the architecture of the systems that stand up, scale, and manage the infrastructure Airflow runs on.
• Design and evolve the APIs (REST/gRPC) that drive infrastructure lifecycle management.
• Own the networking and security posture of these systems, including authentication, authorization, and secure communication.
• Architect observability and traceability across the stack: metrics, logs, and traces for end-to-end request flow.
• Participate in on-call rotation, incident diagnosis and post-mortems, and drive remediation into sprints.
