Job summary

Astronomer is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Airflow Infra team to build the critical layer that connects open-source Airflow to enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure. You will help orchestrate data pipelines at scale, impacting global organizations and enabling faster, more reliable data operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and delivering SaaS products.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Go and Kubernetes.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
• Comfortable with testing frameworks, such as pytest.
• Strong communication skills and ability to write technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Engineer backend services with high quality, maintainable and well tested code.
• Partner with engineers, product, reliability support, and leadership to shape system evolution.
• Regularly engage in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Optimize performance, reliability and scalability of backend services.
• Prototype and propose ideas to improve user experience.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for systems and processes.
• Participate in on-call rotation, troubleshoot and debug incidents.
