Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Sr. Staff Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and secure enterprise infrastructure across hybrid environments. You will drive resiliency, observability, and scalable platforms while guiding automation and AI-enabled capabilities.

You will collaborate across Infrastructure, Security, and Architecture teams, define engineering standards, and own delivery of enterprise-critical outcomes. A strong background in cloud, on-prem, and AI-driven tooling is essential.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of applicable software engineering experience.
• Expert proficiency in Java, C#/.NET, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Strong full-stack experience (front-end frameworks, APIs, back-end services).
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and AIOps.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containers, and distributed systems.
• Secure coding, vulnerability remediation, and data protection.
• Experience with agentic AI architectures, LLM prompting, and human–AI interaction.
• Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools.
• Awareness of AI-driven security risks and responsible AI practices.

Responsibilities

• Owns the technical direction, design integrity, and operational outcomes for highly complex infrastructure across multiple platforms and domains, as a senior individual contributor.
• Leads cross-functional virtual squads or technical workstreams across Infrastructure, Security, and Architecture to deliver enterprise-critical outcomes.
• Serves as a subject matter expert across infrastructure domains, shaping platform direction, engineering standards, and reusable patterns.
• Defines, designs, and advances scalable infrastructure platforms, shared services, automation frameworks, observability, resiliency, and operational controls across hybrid on-premises and cloud environments.
• Owns design choices for AI-enabled, AIOps, or agentic infrastructure capabilities when跨-domain trade-offs are required.
• Modernizes infrastructure services, automation, configurations, runbooks, deployment patterns, and operational workflows to improve scalability, resiliency, security, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Establishes reusable playbooks, automation patterns, validation practices, and documentation standards for consistent and safe execution.
