Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Senior Staff Platform Engineer to shape and execute cloud platform strategies within the Data Analytics and AI Office. You will design target state architectures, build reusable patterns, and guide adoption across analytics teams.

This hands-on role requires strong collaboration with customers, POC development, IaC, and DevOps practices, with cloud experience in AWS and GCP.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
6+ years in cloud/ data platform environments.
3+ years providing architectural guidance to developers or platform teams.
2+ years designing AWS and GCP solutions.
Experience with agile scrum methodologies.
Strong communication with business and IT partners.

Responsibilities

Translate industry trends into cloud platform capabilities.
Design target state platform architectures and roadmaps.
Collaborate with internal customers to guide solution choices for batch/ streaming, real-time data, and cloud migrations.
Lead hands-on POC builds and IaC for cloud platforms.
Drive DevOps/DataOps practices to increase automation.
Improve adoption of services through technical roadshows.
