Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Solution Architect to drive the transformation of its Employee Benefits technology ecosystem. This role will define target-state architectures that modernize legacy platforms, accelerate cloud adoption, and enable AI-ready experiences across APIs, microservices, and SPAs.

You will collaborate with leaders to translate strategy into end-to-end designs, balancing security, cost, and performance while mentoring engineers in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in solution or enterprise architecture.
• Experience designing cloud-native solutions (AWS/GCP).
• Strong API/integration pattern experience (microservices, event-driven, REST).
• Hands-on GenAI/ML in production use cases.
• Identity/CIAM and zero-trust patterns knowledge.
• SPA experience with Angular/React.
• Cloud/hybrid deployment with containerization and orchestration.
• Clear communication with senior leaders; influence across teams.

Responsibilities

• Establish and drive end-to-end solution designs aligned to reference architectures.
• Translate strategy into designs spanning APIs, microservices, SPAs, agent AI, data, and cloud.
• Produce option analyses and decision records balancing security, cost, and reliability.
• Design cloud-native and SaaS solutions; modernize assets where feasible.
• Advance identity and zero-trust patterns across experiences.
• Partner with value streams on roadmaps and program increments.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to improve outcomes.
• Ensure architecture governance and conformance checks.
