Job summary

Ulta Beauty is seeking a System Engineer to oversee system operation, cloud and on-prem environments, and modernization initiatives. You’ll lead IaC efforts using Terraform and Ansible across Linux and Windows, while collaborating with cloud, security, and application teams to deliver scalable, secure infrastructure.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in large-scale enterprise infrastructure, strong Azure/VMware experience, and a track record of deploying resilient, automated solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of progressive Infrastructure Engineering experience supporting large-scale enterprise Windows, virtualization, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Strong experience designing, building, managing, and troubleshooting infrastructure solutions across Microsoft Azure, VMware, and hybrid-cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible in cloud and hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Understand overall infrastructure, priorities, and success measures to design best-practice architectures.
• Lead automated server provisioning, deployment, and lifecycle management using IaC (Terraform and Ansible).
• Architect, deploy, and support enterprise infrastructure across Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Design and implement cloud infrastructure components including Compute, Storage, Networking, and IAM.
• Monitor, audit, deploy, manage, and operate highly available production environments.
• Support monitoring, logging, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize infrastructure standards.
• Create architecture diagrams, documentation, and knowledge transfer materials.
