Job summary

Commerce is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, automate, and operate scalable infrastructure across on‑prem data centers and public clouds. You will guide a team, mentor engineers, and own systems that enable global operations while migrating tooling to modern IaC.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in infrastructure, deep Linux and networking experience, and a proven track record automating with Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in infrastructure or systems engineering with production ownership.
• Experience with remote management of physical hardware at hosting facilities.
• Deep Linux systems administration experience at scale (Red Hat, Debian, or similar).
• Hands on networking experience: Cisco, DNS, load balancing, traffic management.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate large scale, multi data center infrastructure supporting international operations (on‑prem, GCP, AWS).
• Lead automation of infrastructure deployment and configuration management (Terraform, Puppet, Ansible).
• Design and maintain traffic management, load balancing, and DNS systems at scale.
• Build and operate monitoring and observability systems across on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Develop tooling for managing distributed, auditable systems administration.
• Write and maintain process, policy, and procedural documentation for the infrastructure organization.
