Job summary

Temporal is seeking a Senior Software Infrastructure Engineer to drive technical strategy and execution across compute, networking, cloud orchestration, and observability. You will shape architecture, optimize cloud usage, and lead initiatives to improve scalability and reliability of Temporal’s core infrastructure.

You will own design reviews, partner with security and product teams, and work across stakeholders to translate requirements into durable, scalable systems.

Qualifications

• Experience contributing to complex cross-team engineering efforts focused on cloud, compute, networking and storage infrastructure.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Comfortable driving alignment across an organization and contributing to long-term roadmaps.
• Demonstrated ability to make system-level tradeoffs.
• At least 10 years coding experience (Go, Java, or other applicable language) and experience writing concurrent code.
• Experience designing distributed systems and using concurrency primitives.
• Deep experience in at least one infrastructure and familiarity with adjacencies.
• Hands-on experience with one or more cloud providers, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Responsibilities

• Invent: Build systems that optimize cloud use and scale for expansion; co-author roadmaps for infrastructure scalability and reliability.
• Own: Develop partnerships across engineering and product teams; review designs prioritizing scalability and reliability; collaborate to align roadmaps; engage with security for secure-by-default systems.
