Job summary
Temporal Technologies Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Compute in Temporal Cloud to build durable, scalable compute primitives and multi-tenant platform services.
You will design autoscaling, ensure security boundaries, and drive operability with strong reliability practices across the compute stack. You will own end-to-end execution paths, implement cloud integrations, and contribute to SLOs, tracing, and incident response while mentoring teams and shaping long-term platform
Qualifications
- Significant experience building distributed systems or multi-tenant platform services
- Strong systems fundamentals: concurrency, performance, reliability, and failure-mode thinking
- A record of shipping platform primitives used by other engineers/customers (APIs, control planes, data planes)
- Comfort owning outcomes: SLOs, incident response, and improving on-call quality over time
- Excellent written communication and crisp trade-off thinking.
Responsibilities
- Invent: Create new managed compute primitives with clean APIs and extension story across compute providers.
- Own: Architect, build, and operate services on the hot path of task execution with performance and correctness.
- Lead: Drive design reviews and cross-team influence to land coherent platform changes.
