Job summary

Accenture Infrastructure & Capital Projects in Chicago seeks a senior Construction Manager to lead transit projects, ensure safety and CAL OSHA compliance, and manage records, schedules, and budgets while coordinating with contractors on-site.

The role requires a PE license in California, extensive CM experience on large transit contracts, and supervision of major projects. EV charging experience is a plus; on-site collaboration with clients is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in California is required.
• Ten years of Construction Management experience on transit projects of at least $30 million.
• Three years of supervisory experience managing major construction contracts of similar size and scope.
• Valid California Class C driver’s license.
• Experience with EV charging infrastructure projects is a plus but not required.
• Contractor experience (PM, Superintendent, Engineer) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of Accenture and client employees by observing operations, making recommendations, and taking corrective action.
• Review contractor operations for CAL OSHA compliance.
• Provide direction to staff to maintain complete, accurate contract records per regulations.
• Confer with contractors regarding compliance with plans and quality of work.
• Perform field inspections to determine compliance with plans, specifications, and requirements.
• Prepare reports and review daily inspection reports from Field Inspectors.
• Maintain accurate project records and ensure compliance with policies.
• Calculate and document field quantities for payment.
• Document the as-built condition of the constructed facility.
• Monitor the project schedule and budget, and report to executive leadership.
• Assist in managing the project to maintain quality, schedule, and budget.
• Prepare contract change orders for alterations to plans and specs.
• Develop solutions for field conditions necessitating change orders.
• Identify the need for and prepare contract-related documents for submission to the contractor.
• Review CPM schedules and identify and mitigate project risks.
• Complete a daily project diary of activities and discussions.
• Assist in resolving contractor disputes in a timely manner.
• Prepare draft claim reports for Client Vendor/Contract Management.
• Ensure inspections, testing, and quality activities per Client QMP.
• Ensure conformance with all Client contract documents.
• Perform constructability reviews and provide comments on design packages.
• Onsite at client site; some in-person time for collaboration.
