Job summary

Cloudera is seeking a Sr Infrastructure Solutions Engineer (Compute & Storage) to own the hardware layer of our on-premise infrastructure. You will size, configure, deploy, and maintain server/storage hardware, collaborating with software engineering teams to meet workload requirements across CPU, memory, storage, GPU, and networking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Experience with enterprise server hardware and storage arrays.

Responsibilities

• Own the hardware layer for compute and storage platforms from sizing to deployment and lifecycle management.
• Consult with engineering teams to translate workload requirements into hardware configurations.
• Design, document and maintain standard hardware reference builds for common workloads.
• Manage vendor engagement, quotes, BOMs, and product roadmaps.
• Support on-premise compute/storage hardware lifecycle including procurement, firmware updates, and decommissioning.
• Integrate new hardware into bare-metal provisioning and IaC workflows (Foreman/MaaS, Ansible, Terraform).
• Automate hardware management and observability; troubleshoot complex hardware and storage issues with OEM support.
• Collaborate with IT, CloudOps, Security and Engineering to design scalable infrastructure.
• Participate in on-call rotation and maintain runbooks and documentation.
