Job summary

Cloudera is seeking a Sr Infrastructure Solutions Engineer (Compute & Storage) to own the hardware layer for on‑premise systems. You will size, configure, and manage Dell PowerEdge servers, PowerStore arrays, and Pure Storage storage, while partnering with engineers to meet workload demands.

You’ll automate management, drive security hardening, and collaborate with OEMs to optimize hardware for analytics workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years enterprise experience.
• Deep hardware expertise for servers and storage across workloads.
• Experience with Dell PowerEdge and PowerStore, Pure Storage strongly preferred.
• Strong Linux admin, scripting, and IaC tooling.

Responsibilities

• Consult with engineering to translate workload needs into hardware specs.
• Design and maintain standard hardware configurations for workloads.
• Lead lifecycle management of on-premise compute/storage hardware.
• Collaborate with OEMs and vendors on platform roadmaps and benchmarking.
• Automate hardware management and observability; ensure security basics.
