Job summary

Early Warning Services LLC is seeking a Staff Software Engineer - Infrastructure Automation in Chicago to design, build, and improve infrastructure-as-code capabilities across cloud and on-premises environments.

You will drive Terraform module development, Ansible capabilities, and policy‑as‑code controls while collaborating with Security, Risk, and Compliance and platform teams to deliver secure, scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
• Typically eight or more years of related software/DevOps experience.
• Strong software engineering and systems design abilities.
• Ability to execute complex work with general direction.
• Customer-first approach balancing internal needs with security and reliability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply software engineering to infrastructure automation with modular, tested tooling.
• Lead complex infrastructure automation with clear deliverables and risk awareness.
• Contribute to reference architectures for infrastructure-as-code.
• Drive adoption of Terraform across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Design and develop Terraform modules for AWS services with security and IAM controls.
• Develop policy-as-code and automated validation for Terraform plans.
