Job summary

Early Warning Services LLC is seeking a Principal Software Engineer - Infrastructure Automation to lead architecture and engineering for the infrastructure-as-code platform used to provision cloud and on-premises environments. You will own Terraform and Ansible strategies, govern modules, and drive secure, scalable automation across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
• Typically ten or more years of related experience in software, platform, cloud, or infrastructure engineering, including leadership of enterprise-scale architecture.
• Strong production programming experience in Python or Go building tools, services, or scanners.
• Ability to operate with minimal guidance and drive complex work from concept to adoption.
• Experience embedding security, regulatory, and change-management controls into automated infrastructure workflows.

Responsibilities

• Identify enterprise infrastructure automation problems, define the solution, and drive delivery with measurable adoption.
• Set enterprise technical strategy and reference architecture for infrastructure automation.
• Establish software engineering standards for infrastructure modules, policy, and tooling.
• Own Terraform as the enterprise default for provisioning across cloud and on-premises estates.
• Define and deliver opinionated Terraform modules for AWS services and common service patterns.
• Architect the Terraform module test and release system, including tests and policy gates.
• Own the enterprise Ansible platform architecture and related practices.
• Define configuration-as-code architecture for network infrastructure and drift detection.
• Design and report enterprise measures of platform effectiveness and policy governance.
• Mentor senior engineers and raise architecture and code-review standards.
