Job summary

UAB Medicine, Alabama’s largest health system, is seeking an IT Contracts Analyst to conduct business requirements reviews, develop evaluation criteria, and re-engineer processes for risk management and efficiency. Responsibilities

• Oversees IT contract reviews to ensure HSIS and overall standards.
• Serves as liaison between HSIS, Office of Legal Counsel and Purchasing for expedited processes.
• As needed, serves as escalation point for staff negotiating contracts and works with Vendors to address IT-related concerns.
• Provides technical and topical expertise, information, training, and problem resolution for IT contract activities across the enterprise.
• Periodically reviews processes for efficiencies and works with the director to implement improvements.
• Provides weekly status reports to executive leadership (CIO and designees) on contract review status.
• Mentors and oversees staff to ensure HSIS and UAB Medicine standards are applied skillfully.

Job Description

To conduct business requirements reviews, technical systems specifications and systems process analysis. To develop detailed selection evaluation criteria. To analyze and re-engineer business processes using industry standard tools and methods with understanding of the technical and business environments. To partner with business process experts to learn and understand problems with software. To develop innovative IT solutions for risky and demanding business situations

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversees and manages the reviews of IT contract agreements originating both within HSIS and outside HSIS, and ensures that IT, Security, Privacy, and business criteria (for HSIS agreements) are at the highest possible standard.
• Serves as a liaison between HSIS, Office of Legal Counsel and Purchasing to ensure the organization’s needs, including expedited processes, are effectively addressed.
• As needed, serves as an escalation point for staff negotiating contracts and works with Vendors to ensure that any IT-related concerns are met.
• Provides technical and topical expertise, information, training, and problem resolution for IT contract-related activities across the enterprise.
• Periodically reviews processes for efficiencies and works with the director to implement process improvements as needed.
• Provides weekly status reports to executive leadership (CIO and designees) on the status of the contract reviews.
• Mentors and oversees other staff assigned to contract reviews to ensure that the standards for HSIS and UAB Medicine overall are applied skillfully to the contract review and negotiations.
