Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking an IT professional to support a large fleet of mobile devices used in patient care. You will manage device policies with Microsoft Intune, support Epic Rover devices, and collaborate with Networking, Telecom, and security teams to ensure compliant, reliable service.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Information Systems or related field required, four years of related experience may substitute.
• Experience in healthcare IT environments is preferred and beneficial.
• Familiarity with mobile device management platforms and secure messaging systems.

Job Description

To conduct business requirements reviews, technical systems specifications and systems process analysis. To develop detailed selection evaluation criteria. To analyze and re‑engineer business processes using industry standard tools and methods with understanding of the technical and business environments. To partner with business process experts to learn and understanding problems with software. To develop innovative IT solutions for risky and demanding business situations.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for a fleet of mobile devices used in patient care environments.
• Provide direct support of devices used for Epic Rover.
• Manage and update mobile device policies and configurations using Microsoft Intune.
• Perform On Call duties as well as participate in an On Call rotation.
• Deploy and configure Imprivata Mobile Access solution within inpatient clinical settings.
• Troubleshoot moderate to complex issues related to Vocera push‑to‑talk and secure messaging platforms.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams including Networking, Telecom, Nurse Call, and the Call Center.
• Work directly with Networking for Wi‑Fi and network optimization for voice quality.
• Partner directly with Information Security and Privacy teams to ensure compliance and secure operations.
• Document and maintain standards, procedures, and best practices relevant to mobile device support.
• Ensure timely and scope‑compliant completion of service requests and project deliverables.
• Manage the procurement, inventory, and warranty tracking of mobile and Vocera communication devices.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Information Systems or a related field and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

Preferred Skills/abilities

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a healthcare environment.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in information technology.
• Proven expertise with Microsoft Intune or other mobile device management (MDM) platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to support and maintain complex software systems.
• Experience working with integrated software solutions across multiple platforms.
• Strong capacity to perform effectively under pressure in dynamic environments.
• Familiar with hardware inventory management.
• Skilled in prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and time management abilities.
• Proven success in collaborative team environments.
• Previous experience with Imprivata Ground Control preferred.
