Placements24 is seeking a Senior Industrial Planning Specialist to join our client near Upington, Northern Cape. The role focuses on developing and optimizing production plans, allocating resources, and improving workflows to boost efficiency and cut costs.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage advanced planning tools, and mentor junior staff in a hybrid setup that balances remote planning with on-site engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in industrial planning, operations analysis, or supply chain planning, preferably in mining.
• Proven expertise in production planning, capacity planning, and resource optimization.
• Experience with SAP APO or Oracle SCM Cloud and data analysis tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across diverse teams.
• Hybrid work model with on-site engagement in Upington area.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and refine long-term and short-term production and operational plans.
• Optimize resource allocation, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet production targets.
• Utilize advanced planning software and industrial engineering techniques to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for process improvement.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless integration of planning activities.
• Develop and maintain KPIs for planning accuracy, resource utilization, and operational efficiency.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new operational initiatives and capital projects.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on planning activities, performance, and recommendations for senior management.
• Mentor junior planning staff and foster a culture of continuous improvement in planning processes.
• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and operational standards in all planning activities.
