Job summary

Placements24 seeks an Industrial Engineering Project Manager for a contract role in Welkom. The role blends on-site project execution with remote strategic planning, overseeing multiple industrial projects from initiation to close.

You will plan, resource, manage risks, and ensure projects meet scope, budget, and timeline while optimizing operational efficiency and implementing new technologies across diverse facilities in the Free State region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project management with a focus on industrial engineering projects.
• Experience managing projects related to process improvement, facility design, or automation.
• Knowledge of PM methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools like MS Project and Asana.
• Strong understanding of industrial processes, manufacturing systems and operational efficiency.
• Excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of industrial engineering projects from conception to closure.
• Develop detailed project plans with scope, WBS and resource requirements.
• Coordinate and lead project teams with clear stakeholder communication.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Manage budgets and expenditures to meet financial constraints.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and internal departments for alignment.
• Conduct site assessments for planning and execution.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and quality requirements.
• Prepare regular status reports for senior management and stakeholders.
• Facilitate lessons learned and continuous improvement sessions.
