Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Industrial Mechanical Engineer with experience in designing bulk gas and chemical distribution systems for advanced manufacturing. You will lead technical design of hazardous materials and ultra-high-purity (UHP) systems, collaborating with facilities, EHS and tool teams from concept through turnover.

The role covers P&ID development, piping, instrumentation, code compliance, life-safety analysis and coordination with HVAC, fire protection and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering; 6+ years designing specialty gas or chemical distribution systems for high-purity facilities.
• PE license, or ability to obtain within 24 months.
• Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD Plant 3D and P&ID development.

Responsibilities

• Design bulk chemical distribution for acids, bases, solvents, CMP slurry and battery electrolyte; include dispense units, day tanks, reclaim and double-contained piping with leak detection.
• Lead code and life-safety strategy analyses and documentation.
• Coordinate toxic gas monitoring, emergency shutdown and exhaust abatement with HVAC, fire protection and controls.
• Develop P&ID, utility matrices, tool hookup and POC design; perform hydraulic and pressure-drop calculations.
• Support construction: submittals, RFIs, testing, commissioning and turnover.
• Serve as client-facing technical lead in workshops and pursuits; mentor engineers.
