Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Industrial Mechanical Engineer with experience in designing specialty gas, bulk gas, and chemical distribution systems for advanced manufacturing. You will be the technical authority on hazardous materials and ultra-high-purity (UHP) systems, collaborating with client facilities, EHS and tool teams from concept through turnover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or related field; 6 years of experience designing specialty gas or chemical distribution systems for high-purity facilities.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 55, NFPA 400, ASME B31.3, IFC hazardous materials provisions and CGA standards.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 24 months.
• Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD Plant 3D and P&ID development.
• US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Design bulk chemical distribution for acids, bases, solvents, CMP slurry, and battery electrolyte systems.
• Lead code and life-safety strategy analyses and documentation.
• Coordinate toxic gas monitoring, emergency shutdown and exhaust with HVAC, fire protection and controls.
• Develop P&IDs, utility matrices, tool hookup and POC design, and perform hydraulic/pressure-drop calculations.
• Support construction: submittals, RFIs, testing, commissioning and turnover.
• Serve as client-facing technical lead in workshops and pursuits; mentor engineers.
