Job summary

Intuitive Surgical is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to lead cross-functional optimization of manufacturing operations, drive step-level improvements, and mentor junior staff. The role focuses on continuous improvement across physical and transactional processes with executive presence.

The candidate should have a strong track record in managing cross-functional projects, data-driven problem solving, and experience with facility design, simulation modeling, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in a related field with significant leadership of continuous improvement projects
• NPI manufacturing process development / product launch experience is highly desirable
• Facility design experience with AutoCAD software required
• Simulation modeling experience (e.g. Simul8, Arena) required
• Lean implementation with Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification required
• Strong communication and facilitation skills
• Ability to translate data into actionable insights and drive action plans
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and drive change across teams

Responsibilities

• Lead industrial engineering projects including value stream mapping and facility design
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities using data to build business cases
• Monitor and improve labor hours, throughput, lead times, WIP, and other metrics
• Plan capacity through S&OP cycles and coordinate large layout changes
• Drive change management across impacted teams and sustain improvements
• Perform what-if analyses and communicate findings to senior management
• Develop and maintain metrics, data collection, and dashboards
